A major automobile accident was responded to by Brownwood Police, Fire and EMS services at approximately 4:00 pm Friday.  It was a two vehicle wreck that happened at the intersection of Highway 377 South and Crockett Drive, the intersection near Stripes.

The wreck involved a Super Duty Ford Pickup and GMC Yukon SUV.   At least two people were taken from the scene to Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Extent of injuries and cause of the accident were unknown.  Traffic was directed around the accident site until the roadway was cleared shortly before 5:00 pm.
