Ranger, Texas – In response to the COVID-19 crisis, Ranger College today announced a new scholarship program designed to assist displaced workers and students who have been adversely impacted by the pandemic. The scholarship covers tuition, fees, and course materials for one approved class in either the May, Summer A, or Summer B semesters.
According to the news release, the COVID-19 crisis has resulted in staggering job losses across the nation and in the communities Ranger College serves. Community colleges are uniquely situated to provide job training and get people back to work in high demand fields. The Ranger College Displaced Worker/Student Scholarship Program provides financial assistance for taking one course as well as support for those who may be coming back to higher education after an extended period, or who may have never attended. A dedicated advisor will walk individuals through a streamlined enrollment process and provide other support along the way.
“Ranger College is committed to being there for our friends and neighbors in this difficult time. Training people for better jobs is what we do best, and we are grateful to be able to offer this program to those who are hurting,” said Ranger College Vice President Gordon D. Warren.
