As of late Wednesday afternoon, the Mays Fire in San Saba and McCulloch counties was an estimated 9,500 acres and 75% contained.  Water drops from helicopters were very beneficial in keeping the fire in check Wednesday, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.  Crews were able to construct more fireline and that process continued last night.
