Laura Ruth McDaniel, 85

Laura Ruth McDaniel, age 85, of Fort Worth and formerly of Novice, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020.   Due to the inclement weather, the funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2020, in the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel,  400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman.  Interment will be in the Atoka Cemetery near Novice, Coleman County, Texas.  Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman.

She was born Laura Ruth Kincaid on November 15, 1934 in Novice, a daughter of Robert Kincaid and Grace Casey Kincaid. Laura was one of thirteen children.   She grew up in Novice and graduated from Novice High School in the Class of 1952.  She was married to Floyd Raymond McDaniel on June 22, 1953, in Abilene, and he preceded her in death on March 31, 2010.  Laura enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.  She was a hard worker and a great cook.  She loved to play games and enjoyed working in her yard.  Some of the happiest times in her life were spent at the Kincaid family reunions.  She was greatly loved and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Karon Westerfield; siblings, Frank Kincaid, Lydia Wisener, Ralph Kincaid, Albert Kincaid, Johnny Ben Kincaid and Elery Kincaid.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan Abbe and husband Johnny of Rowlett and Brenda Clay of Fort Worth; seven grandchildren, Delanie Allen of Fort Worth, Christi Vaughn of Florida, Keri Denson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Jennifer Denson of Rockwall, Jacob Clay of Springtown, Jessica Clay of Fort Worth and Casey Clay Smith of Benbrook;  seven great-grandchildren, Taylor Mitchell, Carson Vickers, Connor Vickers, Abbigaile Clay, Garrett Clay, Harley Smith and Brianna Smith; six brothers, Jaker Kincaid of Novice, Harlon Kincaid of Fort Worth, Presley Kincaid of California, C. A. Kincaid of San Antonio, Gary Kincaid of Kaufman and Leon Kincaid of Covington; numerous nieces and nephews.
