Lora Mae Fields, 97, of Coleman

Lora Mae Fields, age 97, of Coleman, died Thursday, October 22, 2020 at the Coleman County Medical Center.

The family will host a visitation from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 30, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman with Rev. Dick Shultz officiating.  Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.

She was born Lora Mae Seamans on June 21, 1923 in Coleman County to Lonnie Seamans and Mozelle Bowers Seamans.  Lora Mae grew up in Coleman County around Indian Creek and Anderson.  She graduated from Coleman High School in 1941.  Lora Mae was a bank teller and loan officer for the Coleman County State Bank and then for First National Bank in San Angelo.  She married Hawley Fields on May 13, 1967 in San Angelo.  After her retirement, Lora Mae moved back to Coleman where she was a sales associate for Grammer’s.  She was a member of the Coleman County Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary, the Red Hat Society, and Emmanuel Baptist Church in Coleman.

Lora Mae is preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Mozelle Seamans; her husband, Hawley Fields; and two nieces, Terry Jane Wyatt and Sherry Lynn Gouge.

She is survived by her sisters, Ozella Gouge of Garland, Bernadine Sprinkles and husband Charles of Allen, and Betty Wyatt of Cross Plains; 13 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.

Memorials are suggested in memory of Lora Mae to the Coleman County Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary, 310 S. Pecos Street, Coleman, Texas 76834 or to the Coleman Senior Citizen Center, 916 S. Concho Street, Coleman, Texas 76834.
