A strong pitching performance by Vernon’s Shay Williams resulted in a season ending 3-0 loss for the Brownwood Lady Lions.

Williams recorded 21 strikeouts and threw a one-hit shutout to give Vernon the bi-district championship.  Dakota Simpson recorded a Brownwood single in the top of the third.

Brownwood pitcher Annie-Klein Allgood had a fine performance, surrendered just four hits which scored once in the second inning and added a pair of insurance runs in the fifth. Allgood also walked two batters and struck out one.

Friday marked the final high school games for Lady Lion seniors Covey, Benedict and Lambert.
