Lady Lions soccer defeats Taylor, 7-0

TAYLOR – The Brownwood Lady Lions chalked up their eighth victory in their 10th outing of the season Friday, rolling to a 7-0 road triumph over the Taylor Lady Ducks.

Molly Oliver, the leading returner scorer from last year who missed the early portion of the schedule with a broken elbow, recorded her first two goals of the season while Madison Weckwerth chipped in a pair of goals as well. Scoring one goal apiece were Reagan Ratliff, Jacklyn Lewis and Braycee Lee – who also contributed two assists.

Earlier Friday, the Brownwood JV Lady Lions defeated host Taylor, 4-0, to capture the Taylor tournament championship.

The Lady Lions (8-2) will be back in action Tuesday at San Angelo Lake View in their final match before the start of District 5-4A action. The JV will play at 4:30 p.m. followed by the varsity at 6:30 p.m.
