Stabbing At Flat Rock Park Results In Arrest On Multiple Charges

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office issued the following press release Thursday:

According to Sheriff Vance Hill, on May 8, 2024, at approximately 7:10 p.m., Brown County Deputies, Bangs Police Department and Brownwood Lake Patrol, Texas Department of Public Safety responded to Flat Rock Park at Lake Brownwood in reference to an ongoing disturbance.

Deputies were informed while en route to the disturbance that a stabbing had occurred. One female was found to have suffered a nonfatal stab wound to her lower extremities. The female victim was transported to Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood for evaluation and treatment.

The suspect, identified as Jamal Baker, was located and taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Brown County Jail.

Baker is charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon Family Violence, one count of Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence, and one count of Terroristic Threat to Family Member.

This case is still an active investigation.
