MOUNT PLEASANT – The May Tigers are Region III-A boys golf champions and have qualified for the UIL Class A boys golf state tournament at Crystal Falls Golf Course in Leander May 5-6.

The Tigers carded a 36-hole team total of 735 after rounds of 363 Wednesday and 372 Thursday.

Leading the charge for May were Kobey Morris, who placed second overall with a 176 after rounds of 89 and 87; JD White, who came in third place with a 177 after an opening 90 and closing 87; Mikey Scheriger, who shot a 190 with rounds of 90 and 100; Hunter Seider, who posted a 192 with rounds of 94 and 98; and Riley Ball, who tallied a 231 following rounds of 111 and 120.
