Billy Frank Goodson, 84

Billy Frank Goodson was born February 12, 1941, in Brownwood, Texas to JC and Anne Goodson. He passed from this life on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Songbird Nursing and Rehab after a long illness. Services will be held Thursday, April 24, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home, with a visitation Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Bill grew up in Brownwood, attending Brownwood schools. He served in the U.S Navy and the U.S Airforce. Bill worked as a store manager, paralegal, and oil well services, sales, and delivery. He spent many years officiating high school football across Texas.

Bill married Beth Scott Kirby on March 5, 1988, in Coleman. They then lived in West Texas, Austin, Port Aransas, and Little Elm, until retirement to Early, Texas.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents by his parents, one brother Tony Goodson, sister Carol Ann Harley, and son Paul Dewayne Goodson.

Bill is survived by his wife of 37 years, Beth, son Scott Goodson, son Sean Self, and daughter and son-in-love Lydia and Jason Benedict. Stepchildren, Melissa Baker (Dale), Scott Kirby (Linda), and Maribeth Morris (Alan). Grandchildren Jessica Campbell, Melinda Harrington. Lauryn Benedict. Menda Speckles, Myles Baker, Madison Clark, Maegan Keith, Mia Kirby, and Londan Kirby. Great Grandchildren, Brylee Speckles, Kelan Speckles, Paisley Campbell, Kinzie Campbell, and Everly Campbell, Ottie Jo Clark, Wrenly Baker, Vivian Harrington, and Isla Baker.

Bill loved Beth, his family and friends, UT football and his cat Sophie.

The family would like to thank the staff at both Redstone Assisted Living and Songbird Nursing and Rehab for their love and help over the years.
