Alice Faye Brown, 81

Alice Faye Brown, age 81, of Brady, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025 in Brady. Alice was born on January 5, 1944 in Fife, Texas to William Emmitt Cochran and Goldie Pearl (Young) Cochran. She grew up in Brady and graduated from Brady High School. She married Kenneth A. Brown on December 22, 1962 in Brady. She worked as a church secretary for Brother Grimes for several years. She then moved to the Christian Community Church where she became an ordained minister and worked as church secretary for over 27 years, retiring in 2020 after suffering from a stroke. She enjoyed collecting crosses, bingo, gardening, cooking and her bible study. She loved her kids and grandkids and was known for always “taking care of everyone else.” She was a member of the Christian Community Church in Brady. She was a lifelong resident of Brady.

Funeral services for Alice Brown will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady with Reverend Justin McFarland officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels. Pallbearers will be Josh Brown, Jason Valliant, Fletcher Kirkman, Miggy Rostro, David Heilman and Rodny McFarland.

Alice is survived by her loving husband, of over 62 years, Kenneth A. Brown of Brady, Texas; son Kenneth R. Brown and wife Dranda of Columbus, Texas; daughter Kenda Harkrider and husband Bubba of Brady, Texas; grandchildren Josh Brown of Clarksville, TN, Jason Valliant and wife Angel of Odessa, TX, Cierra Rostro and husband Miggy of Odessa, TX, Fletcher Kirkman and wife Kara of Cuero, TX, and Allison Kurck of Heber Springs, AR; and numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. Memorial contributions in memory of Alice Faye Brown may be made to the Christian Community Church.
