
Luciano Torrez Adame, age 88, of Brady, passed away Thursday evening, May 22, 2025, in Brady. Luciano was born on January 6, 1937, in Melvin, Texas to Melquiades Adame, Sr. and Altagracia (Torrez) Adame. Luciano was one of nine children and grew up in Melvin and Brady. He married Virginia Estrada on June 10, 1956, in Brady. He worked as a professional sheep shearer for many years and according to his family, he sheared a lot of sheep. He traveled with a crew as far north as South Dakota every year to start shearing sheep and worked their way south. He later worked for the Brady I.S.D. as a custodian for 14 years, retiring in 2006. He enjoyed music, dancing, fishing, and cruising around town, visiting with friends. He especially loved spending time watching his grandkids and family gatherings. He was a lifelong resident of the community and has lived in the same house for over 80 years. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Brady.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Luciano Torrez Adame will be at 11:00am, Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Brady with Father Terry Brenon officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00pm at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels. The pallbearers will be Christopher Adame, Edward Ayala, III, Joel Adame, Julian Zapata, Gabriel Zapata, Jr., Stephen Zapata, and Nathan Perez.
Luciano is survived by his loving daughters Ida A. Sprowl and husband Joe of Harrington, DE, Carmen D. Adame of Brownwood, TX, Christina D. Ayala and husband Edwardo of Brady, TX, Evelyn Perez and husband Fernando of Brownwood, TX, and Barbara A. Zapata and husband Gabriel of Liberty Hill, TX; brother Melquiades Adame, Jr. of Brady, TX; 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Virginia, seven brothers and one sister.
