The Early Police Department shared the following information on social media Wednesday:
At approximately 7:31 a.m., Early Police and Fire Departments responded to a two-vehicle collision in the 500 block of Garmon Drive. Initial reports indicated that a car had gone underneath a truck. Upon arrival, first responders discovered that a 2013 Ford Edge had struck the rear of a truck that was turning right into a work location.
The Ford Edge was driven by an 18-year-old female from Goldthwaite. Due to the severity of her injuries, Air Evac was requested but was unavailable at the time. Lifeguard EMS transported the driver to Hendrick Medical Center in Brownwood, where she was later flown to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth for further treatment.
The driver of the truck was uninjured. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
