Billie Wayne Seals Kirbie passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and family devotion that spanned decades.

Born on November 5, 1932, in Coleman, Texas, to Horace William Seals and Effie Ray (Halmon) Seals, Billie’s early years were marked by family moves that took her through several Texas communities. In 1941, the Seals family relocated to Tahoka, Texas, and later to Wilson, Texas. As a result, Billie’s education took her through schools in Coleman, Santa Anna, Tahoka, and Wilson, Texas, giving her a broad perspective on rural Texas life.

Love found Billie early when she married her high school sweetheart, Arthur Samuel “Sam” Kirbie, in Wilson, Texas, on November 21, 1948. Their union would prove to be a partnership built on shared dreams and mutual support. The young couple initially lived with Sam’s parents while he worked at the Wilson cotton gin, beginning their life together with humble roots and strong family ties.

Sam’s career with El Paso Natural Gas, which began on December 28, 1948, led the couple on an adventure across the Southwest. They made homes in various locations, including Oil Center, NM Jal, New Mexico, and Anith, Utah, before settling in the Pleasant Hill community near Denver City, Texas, in 1963. Throughout these moves, Billie proved herself to be an adaptable and supportive partner, creating warm homes wherever their journey took them.

The couple was blessed with three daughters: Kathie (Allen) Nesbitt, Brenda (Tom) Barber, and Paula (Walter) Hunter, who became the center of Billie’s world and the recipients of her unwavering love and guidance.

In 1965, Billie and Sam returned to their Texas roots, moving back to Wilson where they began their farming career on the Crosby farm. After moving into town in 1973, they continued their agricultural pursuits, first on the Cummings farm and later on the family homestead—the Kirbie farm that Sam’s parents had established in 1942. This return to the land represented not just a livelihood, but a connection to family heritage and the values that had shaped their lives.

After retirement, Sam and Billie spent more time at the lake, purchasing in 1989. In 2001, they moved to Harbor Point Community in Brownwood, TX where they enjoyed fishing, relaxing, watching the deer in their yard, and most importantly, spending time with family.

Billie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Sam, her parents Horace and Effie Seals, and her two brothers, Loren (Joyce) Seals and H.W.(Glendora) Seals, son in law Allen Nesbitt, and two nephews.

Her life exemplified the virtues of loyalty, hard work, and family devotion. From her early days as a young bride to her years as a farmer’s wife and devoted mother, Billie embraced each role with grace and determination. She will be remembered for her strength, her commitment to family, and the loving home she created wherever life took her.

Billie’s legacy lives on through her daughters and her grandchildren: Tayna (Troy), Diana (John), Holly, Misty(Tony), Jody, great-grandchildren, Kerry, Michael, Shawn, Jason, Catherine, Dustin, Jessica, Miranda, Clay, Azariah, SophiaRhane, Peyton, 5 great-great-grandchildren, 3 nieces, and 4 nephews carrying forward the values of love, perseverance, and family unity that she embodied throughout her remarkable life.
