EARLY – Let the countdown begin! After breaching the half-way point of the project in June, the City of Early is nearing the finish line with the development of the new Early Boardwalk.

Tony Aaron, the City Administrator for Early, expressed his excitement for the rapidly approaching grand opening to showcase this new addition to the Town Center Park.

“We’re just eager for the public to see the new boardwalk and experience everything that we’ve been working on,” said Aaron.

The city is anticipating the installation of artificial turf and shade coverings within the next three weeks. In just a couple of weeks, they are also expecting concrete to be poured for curbs, sidewalks and the like.

As for the new sign, Aaron shared that the city is still waiting to set up electricity for it to light up.

Just a year ago, Aaron shared updates with Brownwood News on the large drilling rig that was preparing the soil to begin pouring concrete pillars and setting rebar steel.

“It should be somewhere around 300 days to complete the project,” Aaron had said. “There should be a lot of activity over the next 300 days or so.”

As the official sign has been installed, the city stated on their website that “dreams are starting to become a reality” as the boardwalk nears completion.
