
Playing their first volleyball match at Warren Gym this season, the Brownwood Lady Lions dropped a 25-16, 25-8, 25-9 decision to the Wall Lady Hawks Friday afternoon in a rematch from the Abilene Bev Ball Classic during the season’s opening weekend.
Offensively, Aniah Hines and Hannah Deen recorded four kills apiece for the Lady Lions trailed by Demayha Hooker with three, and Kaydence Chandler with two.
Icess Hall dished out all 13 Brownwood assists while Lanie Johnson served the only ace.
On the defensive end, Maddi Scott led the team with 11 digs along with five from Sara Stubblefield, four from Johnson, three apiece from Grace Sparks, Deen, Hall and Chandler, and two by both Hines and Jentry Coalson.
Hines registered a pair of blocks while Coalson, Hooker and Chandler each contributed one at the net.
The Lady Lions (12-10) will attempt to snap a two-match skid when they return to action at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Brady.
