Loretta Criswell Falkner, age 93, of Brownwood, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025. Funeral services for Loretta will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, November 5, at Cross Plains Church of Christ. Visitation will be held prior to the service. Interment will be held at 12:00PM on Thursday, November 6, at East Hill Cemetery in Fort Stockton, Texas.

Loretta was born on October 15, 1932 to Ada Pearl and Charles Edgar Criswell in Fort Stockton. She married the love of her life, Fred Falkner, on June 2, 1951 in Fort Stockton and they were blessed with 2 children, Ken and Cindy. Loretta worked for Pecos County EMS for a number of years. She enjoyed reading, water skiing, playing tennis and ping pong, and singing hymns at church. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ in Fort Stockton and Cross Plains.

Loretta is survived by her son, Ken Falkner; daughter, Cindy Martin and husband Charles; 5 grandchildren, Jason Falkner, Todd Vickery, Heath Vickery, Jenesa Vaughan, and Melissa Wray; 6 great grandchildren, Brook Wilcox, Ella Wray, Brock Vaughan, Kellan Vickery, Ryann Falkner, and Madison Falkner; and 1 great-great grandchild, Mackenzie Vaughan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Falkner; her parents, Charles and Ada Falkner; and siblings, Fenton Criswell, Charles Criswell, Laverne Criswell, Bill Criswell, and Dewey Criswell.
