Eddie Jones at the age of 76 years passed to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 12:10 pm surrounded by his family at Hendrick Medical Center North in Abilene.
He was born, Raymond Edward Jones, to his loving parents, Edward Raymond and Lodema Watts Jones, on March 5, 1949, in Abilene, Texas. He spent much of his youth in Santa Anna where he attended Santa Anna ISD. He was active in football as well as many other activities, and a member of the First Baptist Church. Although the family moved to Cotton Center the beginning of his Sr. year, Eddie stayed behind to complete his final football season before following. He officially graduated from Cotton Center High School in 1967, but he always considered himself to be a member of the SAHS Class of ’67. Following graduation, he attended Ranger Jr. College before serving his country with the United States Navy as a Radio Controller.
On September 22, 1973, Eddie married his loving wife and best friend Norma Jo Eubank in Cotton Center, and they have celebrated 52 years of marriage.
As a member of First Baptist Church Santa Anna, he served as a deacon and music minister. He also led the singing for many years at Harmony Baptist Church as well as multiple Nursing Homes in the area. Eddie’s heart to serve lead him to be active in several Prison and other Christian Ministries where he shared the love of Jesus. Eddie worked in the Oilfield and managed Williams and several other Tire Stores prior to moving into Law Enforcement and Security until his retirement in April of this year.
SURVIVORS wife – Jo Jones of Santa Anna, Texas; Son Ray and Betsy Jones of Rankin, Texas; 2 Daughters Darla & husband Tim Perry of Santa Anna, Texas and Danna Jones of Santa Anna, Texas; 2 Brothers Wade & Leanna Jones of Santa Anna, Texas and Bubba & Cliftene Jones of Spring, Texas; Sister Darlyne & husband Doyle Bothwell of Plainview, Texas; 7 Grandchildren – Dakota, Genia, Colton, Jaylie, Jayton, Frederick, & Zack; 9 Great Grandchildren; Numerous Cousins, Nieces & Nephews
Services will be held Friday at 10:30 am First Baptist Church with Bro David McLean officiating, Interment will follow at the at the Santa Anna Cemetery with services under the direction and care of the Staff of Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna. Visitation is Thursday from 5:30 till 7:00pm
