Lady Lions stay at No. 13, Brookesmith girls debut at No. 22 in TABC state rankings

Following a 3-2 week, the Brownwood Lady Lions remained ranked No. 13 in Class 4A by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches for the week for Dec. 8.

The Lady Lions (10-3) defeated Class 6A Hutto (43-41), Class 5A College Station (60-29) and Class 4A Lorena (52-47) last week, with losses at 2025 Class 4A state finalist Jim Ned (51-35) and against 4A No. 9 Lubbock Cooper Liberty (66-42) – which was ranked No. 20 last week.

Other teams from District 6-4A in the rankings include No. 1 Brock (10-2) and No. 21 Stephenville (9-2).

The Lady Lions will visit Burnet at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, then host Hamilton at 6:45 p.m. Friday.

Meanwhile, the undefeated Brookesmith Lady Mustangs (9-0) debuted in the Class A TABC state rankings at No. 22.

The Lady Mustangs will next compete in the Rising Star tournament Thursday through Saturday.
