Sheryl “Sherrie” Ann Reed Doud, age 73, of Brownwood went to her Heavenly home on December 6, 2025.
Sherrie was born on January 23, 1952 in Brownwood, Texas to Jack and Juanita Fay Lowe Reed. She was the granddaughter of Gene and Beulah Mauldin Reed and Sam and Iva Fletcher Lowe all of Brownwood. She graduated from Early High School; and went on to be a secretary for Brownwood Automotive, dental hygienist for Bryce Reid, then purchased a daycare in Bangs, Tx. Her final job was a home health sitter to many residents of Brown County until retirement.
Sherrie was a born again Christian. She became a mom to a beautiful baby girl, Misti, in 1979. But she was a mother figure to many others throughout the years. She, along with her mother, helped raise her three grandchildren, Trae, Chelei, and Decovan. Sherrie enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, playing bingo, and listening to Elvis, Alan Jackson, Toby Keith, and Willie Nelson. She loved her cat, Jerry, and many other kitties over the years!
Sherrie was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Fay Reed and her brother Jimmie Reed all of Brownwood. She is survived by her daughter Misti Doud of Brownwood and her grandchildren Trae Doud, Chelei Doud-Brooks, and Decovan Doud-Brooks of Brownwood. She is also survived by two nieces Kimberly and husband Kennith Gosnell of Brownwood and Traci Jolly of Tahoka, and her especially close friends Lola and Dennis Lily, Pam Lane, and Jan Hardy.
“A mother’s love is more real than anything in this world because it doesn’t come from this world.”
