Joseph Donald Jackson Jr., 43, of Brownwood, Texas, passed away at his home on December 6, 2025. His family will receive friends at Heartland Funeral Home in Early from 5:00 to 7:00PM on Wednesday, December 10. A funeral service for Joseph will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, December 11 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel.

Born on September 9, 1982, Joseph was the son of Joseph Donald Jackson Sr. and Oleta Gayle Chaney. In 2008, he married the love of his life, Jennifer Jackson. Joseph was a devoted husband, father, brother, and son, and he worked proudly as a truck driver for CS & Sons Trucking.

Joseph lived with a big heart and an even bigger love for his family. It didn’t matter what Joseph was doing, he always had some kind of movie going on his phone at all times, even if he wasn’t watching it because he said he could hear it and he’d also be able to tell you exactly what happened play by play. After the passing of his son, he gained a love for fishing. Over the years, fishing became one of Ezekiel’s favorite things to do with daddy. Those peaceful moments on the water became some of his most treasured memories. He cherished riding his motorcycle to clear his mind and spending days at the lake. He liked to explore the whole lake on the boat, and he also loved to take the teenagers tubing. If he could live at the lake, then he would. He loved cheering on Brayden and Cyrus at their games, supporting Makinzee at her competitions, and holding Josiah and Ezekial close as they fell asleep. He also loved being with his friends that he considered his brothers.
He shared an inseparable bond with his dog, Jinx, who was more than a pet—he was family. He always said if something happened to Jinx then he wouldn’t be far behind him.  He also always tried to keep his dad’s saying alive “simply stunning”. Joseph also shared an inseparable deep bond with his wife, Jennifer. Although they had their ups and downs, she was his best friend and he was hers; the steady place he always returned to. He cherished the life they built together and loved her with his whole heart.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his children, Cyrus Jackson, Brayden Caine, Makinzee Scantling, Josiah Jackson, Ezekiel Jackson, and Blaine Watson; and his siblings, Natasha Chambers and husband DJ, Tray Jackson, Dalton Fowler and wife Ashley, and Chaney Fowler.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Joseph Donald Jackson III; his daughter, Tayleigh Gayle Jackson; and his “brother from another mother”, Michael Dodd.

Joseph will be remembered for his deep love, his strength, and the way he always tried to help others—even when he was hurting himself. He will be forever missed.
