Margarita Castaneda de Lopez, age 57, of Bangs, Texas, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025.

Margarita was born on November 3, 1968, in Monclova, Coahuila, Mexico, to Faustino and Esther Castaneda. She married Jaime Javier Lopez Sr. on July 9, 1989. Together, they built a loving life and were blessed with four children: Nicolas, Jaime, Esther, and Sergio. Margarita cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her life.

She is survived by her husband, Jaime Javier Lopez Sr.; her children and their spouses: Nicolas and Crystal Lopez, Jaime Javier Lopez Jr. and Amairani Lopez, Esther Lopez and Luis Landaverde Jr., and Sergio Lopez and Autumn Carey; her siblings: Elena Castaneda, Hilda Castaneda, Juan Castaneda, and Lorenzo Castaneda; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Margarita was preceded in death by her parents, Faustino and Esther Castaneda.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early, followed by a Rosary from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Mass will be on 2:00 PM Friday, December 19, 2025, at St. Mary’s Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Brownwood, Texas with interment to follow at Bangs Cemetery.
