The Stars of Texas Juried Art Exhibit Committee is proud to announce the return of its Young Artist Award for a second year, reinforcing its commitment to encouraging and recognizing emerging creative talent as part of the 28th Annual Stars of Texas Juried Art Exhibit.
The Young Artist Award is open to artists ages 15–21 and offers a $500 cash prize to one selected artist. In addition, a Young Artist Honorable Mention Award will be presented, accompanied by a $100 cash award. Now in its second year, the Young Artist Award provides meaningful recognition and early professional experience for young creatives participating in a juried exhibition.
“We are excited to bring back the Young Artist Award for a second year,” said Emily Hutson, Chair of the Stars of Texas Juried Art Exhibit. “It’s important to us as a committee that young artists feel encouraged in their art and recognized for their efforts”.
Artwork intake will take place at the Brownwood Depot on Friday, January 30, from 5:00–8:00 p.m., and Saturday, January 31, from 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Judging results for entry into the exhibit will be announced at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31.
The free public exhibit will be on display Sunday, February 8, through Saturday, February 21, featuring original artwork by artists from across Texas.
