
The Texas Department of Public Safety on Wednesday morning revealed details of a one-vehicle accident in Comanche County on Monday, Jan. 12 that claimed the life of 20-year-old Brandi Anne Leal of De Leon.
According to the DPS, Leal was the driver and lone occupant of a 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe Sport Utility Vehicle. The SUV was traveling northbound on State Highway 6, 4.5 miles south of Gorman, when the driver drifted off the right side of the pavement. After veering back onto the roadway, the vehicle skidded across all lanes of traffic. The driver then veered right again, exiting the roadway, and striking a tree with the passenger side of the vehicle.
Road conditions were dry according to the DPS report.
The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the crash scene by Justice of the Peace Johnny Connie.
