Max Jameson, a beloved member of the Coleman community, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Holiday Hill Nursing Home in Coleman, Texas. Born on April 12, 1936, in Coleman, Max lived a life filled with dedication to his family, passion for the outdoors, and commitment to his work.
Max was raised by Lon and Maggie Love and was a proud graduate of Centennial High School. Max spent many fruitful years in the oil field before lending his expertise at the John Deer House in Coleman. However, it was his heart’s true calling as a farmer and rancher that defined him. Max cherished the time he spent working outdoors, connecting with the land, and nurturing the resources that sustained him and his family.
Max’s warmth and kindness made a lasting impression on all who knew him. He was known for his willingness to lend a hand to friends and neighbors, often stepping in to help others in need. His life was a testament to the values he held dear: loyalty, compassion, and an unwavering love for family and friends. Max was a school board member for Talpa Centennial School District, Mozelle School District, and Panther Creek I.S.D. He loved to volunteer for the Panther Creek Stock Show and 4-H. He was a proud member of the Coleman Junior Livestock Association, Sheep and Goat Raisers Association, and the Young Farmers Association. Max also was a volunteer for the South Coleman Fire Department and Talpa Fire Department.
In 1954, Max married the love of his life, Ann Dodson, in Coleman. Together, they created a family that blossomed with love and togetherness. Max is survived by his loving wife, Ann Jameson, and their children: Debra Howard, Rex Jameson and wife Debbie, Charlotte Wilson and husband Greg, and Archie Jameson and wife April. He loved and adored his grandchildren, Jack David Howard, Cynthia Dawn Howard, Ashley Myers and husband Dwayne, Jeremy Jameson and wife Clarissa, Evan Wilson and wife Amberlea, Darren Wilson and wife Brittany, and Ryann Thompson and husband Carrey, along with 11 great-grandchildren. His legacy continues through their lives, shaped by the lessons and love he imparted.
Max is preceded in death by his parents, Glenn McDavid Jameson and Vera Mayo Jameson, and his son-in-law, Don Howard. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew them, and they are joined in spirit as Max journeys forward.
A graveside service celebrating his remarkable life will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Coleman Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Ralph Howell officiating. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.
The family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be made to Panther Creek Stock Show and 4-H, 129 Private Road 3421, Valera, Texas 76884.
