
Emilio Zambrano Seballos, Jr., a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Hendrick Medical Center South in Abilene, Texas. Born on September 26, 1947, in Anson, Texas, Emilio lived a life filled with love, devotion, and a strong sense of community.
Emilio grew up in Anson and graduated from Anson High School before furthering his education at Abilene Community College. Throughout his career, he made significant contributions in various roles—working many years at Mrs. Baird’s Bakery in Abilene, as well as Valley Faucets and Healthco Dental Supply. He also found fulfillment as a self-employed construction contractor, where his remarkable skills and dedication shone brightly.
Emilio was known for his loving and outgoing personality. He cherished his family immensely, always placing them at the center of his universe. His kindness extended beyond family, as he was ever willing to lend a helping hand to friends in need, embodying the spirit of generosity and community. He enjoyed playing tennis, fishing, running, and had a special talent for woodworking.
Emilio married Dorothy Ortega on November 22, 1969, in Coleman. Together, they were devoted members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where they fostered connections that enriched their lives and the lives of those around them.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Seballos; his three children, Emilio Seballos, III, Tish Rodgers and husband Ryan, and Dee Dee Lessord. He loved and adored his grandchildren, Tegan Lessord, Jarin Lessord, Hannah Seballos, Kayden Rodgers, and Zachary Rodgers. Emilio will also be remembered by his siblings Ernestine Garcia, Gracie Munoz, Rosemary Mendez and husband Joe, Rosalinda Garcia and husband Ruben, Gloria Allen and husband Donny, and Tony Seballos.
Emilio’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emilio Seballos, Sr. and Lorenza Zambrano Seballos; and one brother, Santos Seballos. As we remember Emilio Zambrano Seballos, Jr., we celebrate a life filled with love, service, and unwavering commitment to family and community. His impact will be felt for generations to come.
