
The 12-team NJCAA Division III Women’s Basketball National Championship tournament rolled on Thursday with five contests at the Brownwood Coliseum, as teams from across the country continued their quests to make history.
A recap of the day is as follows:
#5 Fulton-Montgomery 64, #4 Monroe-Bronx 63 (OT)
Trailing by as many as 15 points in the second period, the No. 5 seed Fulton-Montgomery Community College Lady Raiders stormed from behind to force overtime and eventually upend the No. 4 seed Monroe University-Bronx Express, 64-63, Thursday afternoon in championship bracket action.
Monroe-Bronx’s Aneyah McLamb drained a jump shot with nine seconds left to tie the game at 55, but missed the free throw after being fouled, which led to the extra session.
In overtime, Fulton-Montgomery trailed 63-60 with 1:46 left, but Hailey Monroe sank two free throws to close the gap to 63-62 with 30 seconds to go, and Kieonna Christmas knocked down the game-winning shot with 14 seconds remaining.
Monroe University-Bronx (26-7) – from Bronx, New York – led 16-7 after one quarter and 26-19 at halftime, but Fulton-Montgomery (24-3) – from Johnstown, New York – took a 40-38 advantage heading to the fourth period.
Hailey Monroe finished with 31 points for Fulton-Montgomery, along with 13 from Kieonna Christmas and 12 points from Cloey Doepp.
Monroe-Bronx received 29 points from Aneyah McLamb and 18 from Beverly Williams. Salimah Williams chipped eight points and 11 assists.

#6 Northland 64, #3 Rhode Island 52
The No. 6 seed Northland Community & Tech Pioneers collected their second win is as many days at the Brownwood Coliseum, knocking off the No. 3 seed Community College of Rhode Island Knights, 64-52, in championship bracket action Thursday.
Northland jumped out to a 21-18 lead after one quarter over Rhode Island, which ballooned to 35-26 at halftime and 50-38 through three frames.
Kenzie Dahl poured in 29 points for the victorious Pioneers (25-5) – from Thief River Falls, Minnesota – along with 17 from Jade Reese and 12 points from Josie Peterson.
The Knights (22-4) – from Warick, Rhode Island – received 15 points from Genesis McNeill and 12 from Natalyah Williams.

#1 Minnesota West 81, #8 Onondaga 67
The top seed in the tournament, the No. 1 Minnesota West Community & Tech Lady Jays, rolled past the No. 8 seed Onondaga Community College Lazers by an 81-67 count in the noon contest Thursday.
Minnesota West raced out to a 28-12 lead after one quarter, which stood at 43-26 at halftime, and 69-47 through three periods.
Katrina Schutz paced the Lady Jays (24-5) – from Worthington, Minnesota – with a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds, along with 19 points from Sadie Krahling, 10 points from Izzy Klumper, and eight points, eight assists and 14 rebounds from Maddie Kamm.
For Onondaga (24-5) – based out of Syracuse, New York – Kassidy Jones and Mary Hamer each logged 14 points, trailed by 12 each from Jada Crocker and Aunnie Stier, and 10 points from Morgan Vasquez.

#2 Anoka-Ramsey 74, #7 Owens 59
Fueled by a fast start, the No. 2 seed Anoka-Ramsey Community College Golden Rams coasted to a 74-59 triumph over the No. 7 seed Owens Community College Express in championship bracket action Thursday.
Anoka-Ramsey opened a 23-8 edge after the initial stanza, which stood at 41-22 at intermission before Owens closed to gap to 59-46 heading to the final quarter.
Mariam Alowonle finished with a double-double of 32 points and 15 rebounds for the victorious Golden Rams (23-5) – from Coon Rapids, Minnesota – while Destiny Casey contributed 15 points, Anisa Longs added 13, and ShaiAnne Jackson tallied 11 points.
For Owens (22-9) – from Perrysburg, Ohio – Da’Cariya Lanier’s 26 points were a team-best followed by 19 from Emily Baer, while Sakiya Turner tacked on seven points with 12 rebounds.

#9 Bronx 70, #12 Rowan College South Jersey 68
The first consolation bracket contest of the tournament took place Thursday morning as the No. 9 seed Bronx Community College Broncos slipped past the No. 12 seed Rowan College South Jersey Roadrunners, 70-68.
Tied at 68 with 43 seconds left, Kolonnie Green sank two free throws for Bronx to push the Broncos ahead for good, as neither team scored the rest of the way.
Rowan led by a slim 21-20 margin after one quarter, and carried a 37-36 into the locker room at halftime, but the score was knotted at 48 heading to the fourth period.
The victors from Bronx, New York (19-6) received 20 points and eight assists from Destiny Davis, 18 points from Ana Matos, and eight points and a team-high 10 rebounds from Kolonnie Green.
For Rowan (21-8), Shannon Pierman turned in the stat line of the tournament with a double-double of 39 points and 19 rebounds. Jameeleyonna Horace and Anna DiPiero chipped in seven points apiece for the Roadrunners, based out of Sewell, New Jersey.
