Brownwood ISD issued the following press release Monday:
This month’s spotlight teacher is Amanda Davis. Ms. Davis is a 4th Grade RLA teacher at East Elementary. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Washington State University and a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix. She is a state-certified teacher in Core Subjects (EC-6, 4-8) and ESL Supplemental (EC-8) and this is her fourth year with Brownwood ISD.
Ms. Davis sets high expectations for her students while creating a classroom environment rooted in encouragement, structure, and strong relationships. She understands that true excellence and compassion go hand-in-hand, consistently challenging her students to grow academically while supporting them every step of the way. Her students feel seen, valued, and motivated to do their best. In addition to her classroom leadership, Ms. Davis serves as a mentor to a student teacher, modeling effective instruction, professionalism, and the heart of an educator. She invests time and energy into developing future teachers, ensuring that the next generation of educators is equipped with both skill and heart. Mrs. Davis truly exemplifies the East Elementary Mission of Compassion, Confidence, and Commitment.
Brownwood ISD is thankful for teachers like Ms. Davis who go the extra mile to recognize the good in our students, making them feel seen, valued, and motivated to do their best.
Our staff spotlight honoree for the month is Shawna Washington. Ms. Washington is a Behavior Teacher Aide at Brownwood High School (BHS). She holds an Educational Aide Certification and is in her first year with Brownwood ISD.
Ms. Washington joined the campus after the Christmas break and immediately made herself an integral part of the BHS family. She is appreciated by her colleagues, works hard, and always does what is best for students. Her dedication is already leaving a noticeable, positive mark at BHS, and it is truly wonderful to see her outstanding daily efforts recognized.
Brownwood ISD is blessed to have dedicated staff members like Ms. Washington who consistently go above and beyond to support our staff and students at BHS.
