Lady Lions, Lions to compete at District 6-4A track meet in Graham Wednesday, Thursday

The Brownwood Lady Lions and Lions will be competing in the District 6-4A track and field meet Wednesday and Thursday, which takes place at Graham High School.

Action begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday with the 3200 meters, while certain field events start at 10:30 a.m. Varsity events to be contested Wednesday include the girls poll vault and boys high jump at 10:30 a.m., the girls high jump and boys pole vault at 11:45 a.m., the girls discus and boys triple jump at 1 p.m., and the girls triple ump and boys discus at 2:15 p.m.

Running preliminaries will take place starting at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday with the 100-meter and 110-meter hurdles, the 100 meters, the 400 meters, the 300-meter hurdles, and the 200 meters. The last race is slated to begin at 5:55 p.m.

Then on Thursday, field events resume at 10:30 a.m. with the varsity girls long jump and varsity boys shot put, followed at 11:45 a.m. by the varsity girls shot put and varsity boys long jump.

Running finals are slated to start at 4 p.m. Thursday and will follow this order: 4×100 relay, 800 meters, 100-meter/110-meter hurdles, 100 meters, 4×200, 400 meters, 300-meter hurdles, 200 meters, 1600 meters, 4×400 relay.

The top four finishers in each event at district move on the 5-4A/6-4A area meet in Abilene on Friday, April 17.
