Three of four Brown County cities show increase in tax allocations

Monthly sales tax allocations have been returned to Brown County taxing entities, and show most experiencing increases. Brownwood received a monthly payment of $585,254.77, a 14.88% increase over last year’s total during this same time period of $511,390.31. Year to date, Brownwood has received $995,780.20, a 9.63% increase over last year’s total during this same period of $908,267.24.

The City of Early experienced the only decrease during this round of payments. They received a monthly payment of $92,782.12, a 4.15% decrease over last year’s total of $96,807.51 during this same period. Year to date, Early has received $173,218.24, compared to last year’s total during this same period of $177,460.59 which represents a 2.39% decrease.

Bangs received a monthly payment of $15,823.94, compared to last year’s payment during this same period of $15,185.73, a 4.30% increase. Year to date, Bangs has received $26,929.60, an 8.42% increase over last year’s payment during this same period of $24,837.71.

The smallest taxing entity, Blanket has seen the largest increase in monthly and yearly allocations compared to last year. For the month, Blanket received $2,677.67, a 19.69% increase over last year’s payment during this same time period of $2,237.09. Year to date, Blanket has received $4,944.99, a 22.21% increase over last year’s payment during this same period of $4046.30.
