On Friday 6/29/18 EPD Officer Andres Contreras stopped a vehicle in the 300 BLk of Early BLvd for traffic violation. While Officer Contreras was talking with the driver and passenger he could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Officer Contreras questioned the driver about the odor who replied that he had smoked some marijuana earlier. Officer Contreras then went to search the vehicle at which time the driver told him there were several jars with marijuana in a bag in the back seat. While searching Officer Contreras also located a prohibited weapon and other drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Both the driver and passenger were arrested for possession of marijuana over 2 ounces and under 4 ounces in a drug free zone a state jail felony, Possession of a prohibited weapon a class A misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia a class C offense. Both Sherman Bell and Cassandra Bell from Breckenridge were taken to the Brown County Jail.
On Friday 06/29/2018 Officers responded to the 100 block of Salt Creek Drive regarding a fight in progress. Prior to arrival the caller reported that 2 parties had left the residence in a car. The car was located and stopped. Officers investigated further at the scene and it was determined that the driver of the car Codie James Ledlow had assaulted another male subject living in the house with him. Ledlow was arrested for assault family violence and taken to the Brown County Jail.
On Saturday 6/30/18 Officer Contreras stopped a vehicle in the 700 Blk of Lucas Drive for a traffic violation. When officer Contreras made contact with the driver he could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming form the vehicle. Upon checking further Officer Contreras located a baggie containing marijuana in one of the occupant’s pocket. The suspect was 14 years old, the case will be referred to juvenile probation.
