Heart of Texas VFW Post 3278 will once again be hosting a 9/11 Observance and first responder breakfast Tuesday at the post, located at 2300 Stephen F. Austin. Breakfast will be from 6 a.m. until 8 a.m. with the observance beginning at 7 a.m. All first responders in the area are invited to attend.

This will be the first of two events to be held at the post this week. This Friday, the post will host a fish fry fundraiser for the Walker Cancer Center from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The meal will consist of fried fish, coleslaw, hush puppies, beans and relish. The cost is $10 per plate. Dine-in and delivery will be available. Advance and delivery orders can be made by calling the post at 646-8113. Post officials are asking advance and delivery orders be placed prior to Friday. Delivery in the Brownwood and Early areas will begin at 10:30 a.m.
