Brown County United Way held the 2019 Campaign Appreciation Luncheon at noon Tuesday, April 9, at the Brownwood Country Club.  Numerous businesses, including KOXE/KBWD Radio, were honored for supporting United Way which provides funds for 18 agencies in Brown County.  Karen Lynch has been the Executive Director of United Way in Brownwood since 2006.  She announced that, of the $250,000 fundraising goal this year, all but $193 had been raised as of the luncheon.  Efforts were being made to reach the goal.  The top 4 contributing companies this year were 3M, Kohler Company, United Supermarkets and Atmos Energy.  Those four companies alone contributed 62% of the funds given this year or $155,000.
