Severe thunderstorms tore through Coleman, Brown, Comanche, Callahan and Mills counties Wednesday evening, leaving a path of damage from high wind and large hail.
Some of the reports include, from the Goldthwaite Fire Department, winds that uprooted trees and took down power lines on FM 574 west of Goldthwaite.
In Coleman, windows were busted out due to wind driven golfball size hail.
A report from Santa Anna of golfball and larger hail doing considerable damage to property and trees. In fact, two hail storms hit Santa Anna last night. One mile west of Santa Anna large hail knocked out a car windshield and three injuries were reported by the San Angelo National Weather Service.
A report 18 miles west of Coleman, on Highway 153, of softball size hail in the height of the storm.
A HEAT ADVISORY is in effect for Brown, San Saba, Comanche and Mills counties. High temperatures near 100, combined with very high humidity, will make temperatures feel like 105. That leads to an increased risk of heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
Drink plenty of water today, limited outside work to morning and late evening and check up on relatives and neighbors.
