The Cen-Tex Charitable Kicking Camp was going on Tuesday morning, July 16, at Gordon Wood Stadium in Brownwood. NFL kicker Matt McCrane and former NFL wide receiver Jaxon Shipley teamed up to instruct kickers and wide receivers on fundamentals and new techniques. 100% of the proceeds from the camp benefit the Allcorn All-Play Park and The Arc of Brown County. McCrane is a free agent kicker, spending the 2018 season moving around with the Arizona Cardinals, Oakland Raiders and Pittsburgh Steelers. His college career was with Kansas State after his time as a Brownwood Lion. Shipley spent time with the Arizona Cardinals after a stellar receiving career for the Texas Longhorns where he played in 48 games. His 218 career receptions rank third in UT history and his 2,510 career receiving yards are No. 6.
