Fire Destroys Home, Sends Occupants to Hospital for Treatment

Several area fire departments responded to an overnight house fire sending a 93 year-old grandmother and her 59 year-old grandson to the hospital where they were being treated for smoke inhalation.

According to Brownwood Fire Marshal, Buddy Preston, the call came in a little after 2:00 am Tuesday morning at a mobile home on County Road 362. The home was a total loss.  The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

Blanket, Early, May, Zephyr and Comanche Volunteer Fire Departments all responded along with Lifeguard EMS, Preston said.
