Brown County has received a letter of recognition from the Texas Transportation Commission for exceptional commitment to help Texas end the streak of daily deaths on Texas roadways.

Brown County has achieved what only 20 Texas counties have been able to do – have zero roadway fatalities in the year 2019.

The letter states that while Brown County is unique in this accomplishment, its achievement is proof that Texas can end the streak of daily deaths – one county, one citizen at a time.

The letter was sent to County Judge, Dr. Paul Lilly, by Laura Ryan, Commissioner, Texas Transportation Commission, stating efforts in Brown County are an example and inspiration for other Texas counties to continue their commitment to ending traffic deaths.
