Verdicts Returned in District Court Cases

According to District Attorney, Micheal Murray, the following felony cases were recently heard in Brown/Mills County District Court, Judge Mike Smith, presiding.

Landon Heath Jones, on probation for the offense of Obstruction or Retaliation was revoked and sentenced to Ten (10) years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division. Further, Jones, pled guilty to two separate felony offenses of Sexual Assault and was sentenced to Two (2) years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.

Jarred Lee Williams, pled guilty to the felony offense of Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon and was sentenced to Eight (8) years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.

David Wayne Cockroft, pled guilty to the felony offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance- Drug Free Zone and was sentenced to Three (3) years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.

Troy Earl Crouch aka Troy Earl Crouch, Jr., pled guilty to the felony offense of Injury to an Elderly and was sentenced to Three (3) years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.

Alvie James Twomey, on probation for the felony offense of Burglary of a Building was revoked and sentenced to Six (6) Months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.
