Brownwood High School 2003 graduate Jeremy Alcorn was recently inducted into the Baylor University Sports Hall of Fame.

Alcorn ranks second in Baylor men’s golf history with five individual tournament victories. He earned first-team All-Big 12 and honorable mention All-America honors as a sophomore in 2005. That year, he was twice named Big 12 Golfer of the Month, won three medalist honors, and had a 71.763-stroke average that ranked as the second-best in school history at that point.

Fifteen years later, he still ranks among the all-time leaders in career top-10 finishes (17), top-five finishes (11) and scoring average (73.19). Following a pro career that included two wins on the Adams Tour, Alcorn has been a college assistant coach for the last eight seasons at Texas Tech, Coastal Carolina, and Liberty, leading the Flames to their third-straight NCAA Championship berth this year.

During the induction ceremony on Nov. 18 at the Cashion Building Banquet Room on the campus of Baylor University, Alcorn said, “Thank you so much for celebrating us. It’s good to be back, I don’t get to come back a lot, it’s been about five years. My head coach, Greg Priest is here, and I’m thankful to him for everything. I’m really glad you are here and we were able to have four years together. I got to play some golf with some past teammates and family today. To my teammates and friends, thank ya’ll and it’s an honor to be here and be celebrated tonight.”

Alcorn was inducted along with Robert Griffin III (football), Demond “Tweety” Carter (men’s basketball), Taylor Barnes Fallon (volleyball), Doak Field (football), Gary Kafer (track & field), Josh Ludy (baseball) and Quentin Iglehart-Summers (track & field).

Alcorn is currently the assistant men’s golf coach at Liberty University. He joined the program in 2019 after stints at Coastal Carolina and Texas Tech in the same role.
