Emilio Navarro Gomez passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, in Brownwood, Texas, at the age of 83.

Born on February 1, 1942, in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, Emilio was the beloved son of Rafael and Delfina Gomez.

Emilio was a proud father, grandfather, and uncle. Throughout his life, Emilio was known for his dedication to his work and the joy he brought to others through food and hospitality. He managed Pulidio’s Restaurant and later Emilio’s Restaurant, where he created not just meals, but memories for many. His warmth, strong work ethic, and sense of humor will be fondly remembered by those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Jose Gomez, Lydia Silva, Rafael Gomez, Alma Cortez, and René Gomez. Emilio was the last surviving sibling of his family.

He is survived by his son, Jacob Gomez; his grandson, Jacob Gomez Jr.; his niece, Delfina Gonzales; his nephew, Ralph Gomez; and his dear friend, Maria Escobedo.

A celebration of Emilio’s life will be held at a later date in San Antonio, Texas.
