No. 25 Lady Lions maul Abilene High, 58-11, in season opener

ABILENE – The Class 4A No. 25 Brownwood Lady Lions opened the 2025-26 basketball campaign Tuesday night with a 58-11 road victory over Class 5A Abilene High.

The Lady Lions (1-0) led Abilene High (0-2) by a 22-2 count after one quarter, 32-4 at halftime, and 45-11 heading into the fourth period.

Icess Hall and Trinity Roberts led the charge with 12 points apiece followed by six each from Abby Brasher, Hannah Deen, Demayha Hooker and Jade Morin. Jaidyn Hope and Cambree Jefferson chipped in three points apiece, and Nylah Hall and Jentry Coalson both finished with two points.

Brownwood opens its home schedule at 3:30 p.m. Friday when it hosts Merkel.
