Donna Barron Boswell, age 70, of Brownwood, TX, passed away on November 29, 2025. Donna was born on September 6, 1955 in Hasse, Texas, to L.J. Barron and Virginia Joy Westfall. A Memorial Service will be 10 AM on Monday, December 8th at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early with inurnment to follow at Zion Hill Cemetery in Comanche, TX.
Donna attended school in DeLeon, Texas, and went on to attend Ranger College School of Nursing and became an LVN. She was blessed with one daughter, Kendra Putman of Brownwood, TX.
Donna, known as “Dodu” by her loved ones, LOVED the Texas Longhorns. She never missed a chance to watch the game and text her best buddy, Doc, and her sister Marilyn, all about it. She was also an ever-faithful fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Dodu listened to every single Brownwood Lions game without fail. She would even text her daughter about the big plays, even if she was there watching the game. She was definitely their biggest fan. She loved her boyfriend, Paul, and enjoyed riding around and going out to do things with him. She had a very strong and special relationship with her daughter, Kendra. They were always poking fun at each other and couldn’t go a day without talking. She also threw Kendra a big birthday party every single year and did everything possible to make her feel special on her birthday. She was a very proud mother.
She was also so quick to brag about her son-in-law, Andy. She was a big supporter of his business, Handy Andy, and loved to tell the world that he served as an 82nd Airborne Medic. She adored her grandchildren more than words will ever be able to express. She always knew all there was to know about them and always had their favorite treat ready for them when they came over. In the end, Dodu was at her very best with a Diet Dr. Pepper in her hand. She was involved in the lives of all those she loved. She was so happy and quick to joke around and make you smile. She will live on in us always.
Donna is survived by her daughter Kendra Putman of Brownwood, TX; grandchildren, MaKenzie Boswell, Emma Putman, Madison Putman, Olivia Putman, and Penelope “Piper” Putman; sister Marilyn Goden Sligh and husband Jon; step-brother Gaylon Lee Johnston and wife Clarissa of San Marcos, TX; and her boyfriend Paul Bourn of Brownwood, TX.
Donna was preceded in death by her mother Virginia Joy Johnston.
