Helen Louise Moore-Denison, 88

Helen Louise Moore-Denison, age 88, of Brownwood, known to many as “MiMi” and “Aunt Helen” passed away peacefully in Hendrick Hospice Care surrounded by her loving family on January 19, 2026. Helen was born July 5, 1937, in Cross Cut to Mattie and Cecil Moore, she was raised by John Elkins after the passing of her biological father. She graduated high school in 1955. Helen married James Ray Denison, the love of her life on July 16, 1955. They were married for 62 years.

Helen was a homemaker and a telephone operator for GTE. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Post 3278. Her favorite hobbies were playing Bingo at the Grand Starz and the VFW. She enjoyed watching Westerns and the Dallas Cowboys. She loved cooking for the family, gardening and cooking her fresh vegetables. She adored beautiful flowers and roses. She cherished her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and prayed for them every night as she read her Bible before bed.

She is survived by her brothers Lawrence and JC Elkins, daughter Alicia Davis and husband Kendall of Abilene, sons Keith Denison and wide Karen of Brownwood, Greg Denison of Brownwood, Brandon Denison and wife Deana of Abilene, grandchildren Stephanie, Shaunta, Brittney, Sara, Kendra, Cameron, Brinlee Ray, John Paul, Jennifer, Alyssa, Daniel McKenzie and Justin, 20 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends, she is also survived by her little Chihuahua named Cheetah.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents Mattie and Cecil Moore, Stepfather John Elkins, brothers Pat and Mike Ratliff, Herman, Robert and Cecil Moore and sisters Joyce Fowler and Dorothy Hemphill.

Helen loved the Lord and will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, January 28th at 6:00 pm at the Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel, Brownwood.
