Billy Shan Cumba, 53, passed away on March 5, 2026 with his wife and family by his side. Service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Salt Creek Baptist Church in Early. Visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Heartland Funeral Home in Early. Interment will be at May Cemetery.

Shan was born February 19, 1973 in Brownwood, Texas to Billy Wayne Cumba and Pamala (Holt) Vannoy. At the age of 5, Shan moved to Midland with his mom and younger brother Damon. There Pamala met Morris Vannoy who became Shan’s stepfather. Shan was an active and mischievous child who grew up to be a loving, compassionate, kind, and funny man his parents are proud of.

Shan graduated from Greenwood High School in Greenwood, Texas. There he played football for Coach Bob Purser and Coach Scott Knippa. He may have been the smallest on the team, but there was no doubt he had the biggest heart for the game.

Shan had many different talents and skills that led him into professions in construction, oil, and ranching. Shan’s cowboying days took him from the Palo Duro Canyon, to Morgan Mill and Stephenville, and finally to May, Texas where he owned his own cattle ranch.

In 2017, Shan met the love of his life Angela Lindgren. They married in 2019 and welcomed their son Grady later that same year. Shan and Angela shared a special kind of love for each other. Shan and Angela were each other’s best friend, partner in life, and half of each other’s heart. Their son Grady was Shan’s pride and joy and favorite wrestling buddy.

Shan loved his family, his friends, life, and most importantly, God. He will be missed by so many.

Shan is survived by his wife Angela and son Grady of May, parents Morris and Pamala Vannoy of Granbury, brother Damon Cumba and wife Summer of Granbury, sister Kinsey Cumba and wife Krystal Powell of Cypress, and nieces and nephews Cooper Cumba, Madison Cumba, Myracle Cumba, Ford Powell, and Rowan Powell.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Billy and Lucille Cumba, Fayrene and Curt Holt, Dewayne and Bernice Vannoy, and father Billy Wayne Cumba.
