On March 7, 2026, Glenn Dale Jones of Brownwood was called home to be with the Lord. At the age of 82, he left this world surrounded by love and the promise of eternal peace.

Glenn was born on July 10, 1943, in Seymour, Texas, to Virgil and Margaret Jones. He later moved with his family to Hobbs, New Mexico, where he grew up and graduated from Hobbs High School with the Class of 1962. Following graduation Glenn moved to Eunice, New Mexico and proudly served his country in the National Guard for nine dedicated years.

During this time, he married the love of his life, Sharron Jarrell Jones, beginning a marriage that would span 61 wonderful years. Glenn was a dedicated employee for GTE, later Verizon, for thirty years. Deeply committed to serving others, he volunteered as a firefighter, EMS responder and served on the Eunice City Council. After retiring from Verizon, Glenn continued serving his community by working an additional ten years with the Central Texas Telephone Cooperative in Goldthwaite, Texas.

In 1977, Glenn and his family moved to Lake Leon, Texas, before later settling in Brownwood, where he spent the remainder of his days with his beloved wife and their two children. Glenn cherished time spent with family, especially the many gatherings at Lake Leon, and he found great joy in the quiet beauty of country life in Brownwood. He was often found driving around the pasture in his Mule picking up rocks or on an excavator clearing mesquite trees. His steady presence and love for his family will be deeply missed.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Margaret Jones; his brother, Ronnie Jones; and brothers-in-law, T.J. Jarrell and Wayne Hennington.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharron Jones; his son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Phedra Jones of Brownwood; his daughter, Glenna Zazynski of Johns Creek, Georgia; and his grandchildren, Kailey Jones, Kassidi Jones, Kason Jones, Zackery Zazynski, Zerek Zazynski, and Zian Zazynski. He is also survived by his great-grandchild, Holdyn Nguyen of Brownwood.

Additional survivors include his sisters, Helen Hennington of Brady and Brenda Carroll and husband Ray Carroll of Lubbock, Texas. Glenn is also lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and cousins who held a special place in his heart.

A visitation will be held Friday, March 13, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Kimbrough-Jacobs Funeral Home in Cisco. A graveside service with military honors will be held Saturday, March 14, at 11:00 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco, Texas.

Pallbearers include Kason Jones, Zackery Zazynski, Mike Hennington, Carson Carroll, Brandon Carroll, Josh Carroll, J.J. Karr, and Luke Riley. Honorary pallbearers include Holdyn Nguyen, Ray Carroll, and Mike Jones.
