
The Brownwood Lady Lions and Lions combined to earn 25 berths in the 5-4A/6-4A area track meet, which will take place Friday at the Shotwell Stadium Annex in Abilene.
The top four finishers from the District 6-4A meet in each event advanced to area, and competing from Brownwood will be the following student-athletes:
Girls District Champions
- Grace Sparks in the 100-meter hurdles (14.85) – new school record

Friday’s area track meet schedule is as follows:
- 10:30 a.m. – Girls Triple Jump, Girls Discus, Boys Shot Put, Boys High Jump
- 11:45 a.m. – Girls Shot Put, Girls High Jump, Boys Pole Vault, Boys Discus
- 1 p.m. – Girls Long Jump, Girls Pole Vault, Boys Triple Jump
- 3 p.m. – Running Finals (4×100 relay, 800 meters, 100-meter hurdles/110-meter hurdles, 100 meters, 4×200 relay, 400 meters, 300-meter hurdles, 200 meters, 1600 meters, 4×400 relay).
The final event is expected to start at 5:25 p.m. Friday.
