With its origin dating back to 1964, the Brown County Rodeo celebrates 62 years during this year’s event, which will be held Thursday, June 4 through Saturday, June 6 at the Brown County Fairgrounds at US Highway 377 South.

The rodeo kicks off with the annual membership meeting in the Home Economics building on Thursday June 4 from 5-7 p.m.

Mutton bustin’ will start each night’s action with registration at 6:15 p.m., at a cost of $20 per child.

Gates open at 6 p.m. each night with Mutton Bustin’ at 7 p.m., followed by the Grand Entry at 7:30 p.m.

Pick up your adult tickets for $10 at KOXE at 300 Carnegie St. or Citizens National Bank on Carnegie St. and save. Tickets at the gate will be $12 for general admission. Texas Bank has sponsored all the kids 12 and under get in free all 3 nights.

TC Long is back as the rodeo announcer along with James Andrews Rodeo Co. providing the rough stock. Speciality act Kody Gray and the San Angelo Rodeo Ambassadors will entertain the crowd as well.

Veterans and First Responders are Honored with free admission to all uniformed First Responders and Veterans on Thursday night to express appreciation for their service and for our freedom.

The bull toss will happen again each night. Watch for the Brown County Ambassadors and Royalty as they will be selling the bulls for $5 during the night.

The Senior Calf Scramble Competition will also take place each night as 10 students will be awarded $500 to $1,000 to go toward their purchase of a stock show animal for the Brown County Stock Show in January of 2027.

This year’s parade theme is Red, White and Blue and Jarene Hudspeth will serve as grand marshal.
