Early Police Chief David Mercer reported that a joint investigation between the Early Police Department, Brownwood Police Department and the Brown County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of 44 year old Manuel Fuentes and 26 year old Destinee Angela Hood, both of Brownwood. Both were arrested on charges of tampering with and fabricating physical evidence as well as several other drug charges. Officers received information regarding several individuals who were staying in two rooms at a local motel on C.C. Woodson Road. Â
The occupants of the rooms were reported to have guns, money and drugs in the room. The information the officers received was not enough for a search warrant, so investigators began conducting surveillance. EPD K9 officer Jambo was later walked in front of the motel rooms for an open air search and alerted to one of the rooms in question.  Officers  made contact with Fuentes and Hood, who agreed to an interview. Consent was granted to search the room, which led to two BB guns, baggies and syringes.  Officers also located a meth pipe containing residue and under 2 ounces of marijuana. Officers then located  bags containing an assortment of different illegal narcotics packaged for sale. Officers also located scales at the scene.
