Required vaccines can now be obtained

Children who are going to be attending school for the first time this year will need to have their immunizations up to date. Even though school won’t be starting until August, it is not too early to make sure your children are current on their required vaccines.

The Brownwood/Brown County Health Department holds a scheduled back to school vaccine clinic each August; however, we welcome children in for school vaccines at any time during the year. For parents who do not want to get caught in the back to school rush in August, now would be a good time to get your child’s vaccines.

The health department has a walk in clinic each Wednesday from 8:00-11:30am and from 1:00-4:30pm. No appointment is required for the Wednesday clinic. Vaccines can be given on other weekdays by appointment.

Parents who have questions about what vaccines their child might need can bring their shot record to the health department, or they can call the health department at 325-646-0554 to have their questions answered.
