Injury to a child, assault of public servant, burglary lead to lengthy prison sentences

Dozens were sentenced recently in district court with Judge Stephen Ellis presiding. Those sentenced included:

  • Christopher Hoffman pled guilty to the felony offense of possession of a controlled substance was sentenced to 15 years.
  • Geronimo Mindieta pled guilty to the felony offense of failure to register as a sex offender-failure to report change of address and was sentenced to 12 years.
  • Richard Fields, on probation for the felony offense of failure to comply with sex offender requirements was revoked and sentenced to 10 years.
  • Lorena Navejar, on probation for the felony offense of burglary of a habitation was adjudicated and sentenced to 10 years.
  • Dustin Ray Lawson pled guilty to the felony offenses of theft-elderly individual and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence and was sentenced to 10 years.
  • Cody Paul Cass pled guilty to the felony offense of injury to a child and was sentenced to 10 years.
  • Leila Nicole Schulze, on probation for possession of a controlled substance-drug free zone was adjudicated and sentenced to eight years.
  • Arthur Villareal, on probation for the felony offense of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver-drug free zone was adjudicated and sentenced to eight years.
  • Jason Mueggenborg pled guilty to the felony offense of burglary of a habitation and was sentenced to eight years. Further, he pled guilty to the state jail felony offense of possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to two years. Further, he was adjudicated and sentenced to an additional two years.
  • Daniel Tran Nguyen pled guilty to the felony offense of assault against a public servant and was sentenced to six years.
  • Arturo Allen Cadena pled guilty to the felony offense of credit card or debit card abuse against an elderly individual and was sentenced to six years.
